How I Tan

With summer fast approaching here in the south that means the need for color is also approaching. But with the threat of skin cancer and tanning beds a big no no (I confess though I miss that nap time) the tan now comes from a spray, towelette or lotion. This is what I like to use and I will tell you my tricks for not having streaks or turning orange.

I love the spray product for an all over even color. Like with foundations you have to try a few till you find the one that suits your skin type and tone the best. For me that's Banana Boast summer color. I get a nice even color that I can control. The closer you spray the darker the color. I like to start with a good exfoliation product St Ives or a good DIY sugar scrub.

After the scrub I apply a good moisturizer, making sure I get my elbows knees and ankles really well.  Then I just start spraying, starting at my face and working my way down. The key is a light application first, you can always add more later for a deeper color. I keep the spray a good eight to twelve inches away from the area I'm spraying and do a even swish like motion.

Just let everything dry, I find applying before bed the easiest, before putting on clothes and your done. It does have a bit of a fake sun tan smell, I have yet to find one that doesn't have that smell to some degree. But aside from that I love this product for an at home fake tan.

If you are scared to do this at home on your own, then I do highly recommend going to a tanning salon and getting a Mystic tan. You can set the levels to your needs and it last for about seven days. Just remember to exfoliate and use the lotion on your hands elbows knees and feet.

New Wet and Wild

Wet and Wild Cosmetics has really step up their game since the last time I used their products. The last time I really had used wet and wild was when I was in high school, it was all I could afford then. They worked but were not the best. I can say now 12 years (oh man i feel old 12 years since high school) they have step up the game a bunch. I was in Walgreen's the other day and found the new Fergie line and I had to pick up a couple of things to try. I purchased a lipstick in Penthouse Sweet and a face powder in Rose Champagne Glow.

The face powder is a baked powder so it can be used wet or dry, I have yet to try it out in wet form. This give a nice glow to the cheeks, I have used it over my normal matte blush in the picture as a high light. It gives a nice glow with out the overly greasy look and with out using big chunks of glitter. They have two other shades with more bronzy gold tones that would work great on darker skin tones. This one is very pink and gold which works great with my paleness.

The lipstick is on the brighter side of things and I have been wanting to go with brighter lips this spring and summer. Its also matte but not drying on the lips. its a bright hot pink that's more on the blue purplish side. Works great applied straight from the tube for a bright color pay off. Or applied using your fingers for a more sheer wash of color. It lasted a good while and almost left a slight stain behind when I went to take it off. I will be on the hunt for more colors in this range.

Once again Wet and Wild has really step up their game with the Fergie line and with their regular line of cosmetics. If you are on a budget but still want great products then you should give Wet and Wild a go.

Shaper Fierce hair spray. I love travel size hair sprays so easy to just carry with you. This one smells like any other hair spray and works well for me not an all day hold but I have really found a hair spray that will hold all day long. Full size $17.00.

Since this box was so great and had a lot of makeup products I filmed my first get ready with me video using the products. Please excuse the funny faces lol and poor editing skills. I plan on filming more stuff to go along with my blog and getting better at editing and just talking to the camera.
